De.Co.

The City of Borgomanero has set up the De.Co. ‘Denominazione Comunale’ (Municipal Denomination) Register with the aim of supporting the heritage of traditions, knowledge and experience related to agro-food and gastronomic activities like typical and local products that are of particular public interest and, as such, deserve to be enhanced. The most famous dish of Borgomanero’s gastronomy is unquestionably the Tapulone. Popular tradition links this dish to the legend of the 13 pilgrims from the Lowlands who, in order to overcome hunger, had no choice but to sacrifice the donkey that led their cart.
